Global Environment Index (GEI)

The KLD/JANTZI Global Environment Index (GEI) is a pure-play global index that identifies public companies focused on offering products and services that contribute to a more environmentally sustainable economy.

KLD Research & Analytics and Jantzi Research Inc. created the index in response to growing demand from institutions and individuals for investment strategies that address the risks and opportunities associated with an increasingly resource constrained global economy.

Jantzi-Sustainalytics Co-Sponsors Social Disclosure Consultation

Jantzi-Sustainalytics and the Hennick Centre for Business and Law at York University are conducting a consultation on corporate social disclosure requirements in Ontario.

Now, the organizers are soliciting additional, written input and feedback on the consultation paper and the questions that it raises. From an investor perspective key questions include:

What are the needs of investors for disclosure on corporate social performance?
What form should disclosure requirements take? How prescriptive should such requirement be?
How standardized should reporting be?
Is the “materiality” standard sufficient to ensure adequate corporate disclosure on social performance?
What options, if any, should be considered for the reform of existing disclosure requirements?
