Research Process

Jantz-Sustainalytics has developed one of the most comprehensive research methodologies in the SRI industry. This process is underpinned by our analysts, who can best be described as a cross between traditional financial analysts and investigative journalists or private detectives.

Scoring and Rating

In evaluating the environmental, social, and governance performance of corporations, Jantzi Research uses a hierarchy of four levels of indicators, grouped at the macro level into six focus areas.

Jantzi-Sustainalytics Co-Sponsors Social Disclosure Consultation

Jantzi-Sustainalytics and the Hennick Centre for Business and Law at York University are conducting a consultation on corporate social disclosure requirements in Ontario.

Now, the organizers are soliciting additional, written input and feedback on the consultation paper and the questions that it raises. From an investor perspective key questions include:

What are the needs of investors for disclosure on corporate social performance?
What form should disclosure requirements take? How prescriptive should such requirement be?
How standardized should reporting be?
Is the “materiality” standard sufficient to ensure adequate corporate disclosure on social performance?
What options, if any, should be considered for the reform of existing disclosure requirements?
